TABLET VS LAPTOP

An Android tablet can replace a laptop for most or your day-to-day tasks and because most people use laptops tor the web, email and basic tasks, a tablet can in theory cope with 100 percent of the tasks a laptop is used for. The main difference is the lack of a physical keyboard, but some tablets get around that by offering keyboard accessories and this compromise offers the benefit of giving you more portability, and longer battery life. The Android Os is not a ‘full’ system like windows or Mac so some advanced tasks will be off limits, but for everything else a tablet can actually be more efficient to use than a laptop. A tablet offers many advantages over a laptop for 90 per cent a laptop is likely to be the only option. A tablet will help you cope with help you cope with it all, though.

BUYING A TABLET

HOW TO FIND YOUR PERFECT TABLET

There are many features and differences to look for when purchasing a tablet; some will be personal to your needs and others may restrict what you want to do with a new tablet in the future. Price is not always a good indicator of quality and also rarely offers any indication of the feature set or flexibility included. The first thing to consider is what you intend to use a tablet for. It has often been said that no-one needs a tablet and that they are a luxury purchase for people who want to undertake tasks quicker and easier. However, being able to work and play more efficiently is by no means a luxury, but rather the result of computing in the modern era. Think about the size of tablet you need and how each type will impact your daily usage. A ten-inch tablet could be too big to carry around and a seven-inch tablet may be too small to fully enjoy movies and web browsing. Getting the balance right is crucial and the huge range of Android tablets available at least gives you the opportunity to choose almost any sixe you like. For example, Samsung offers a huge range of Galaxy tablets from 7.7-inch through to 10.1-inch with some options available in between, so some time spent testing each size in real life will help you to decide which works best for you. The operating system version is important as well and you should ideally look for a tablet with at least Honeycomb or Ice cream Sandwich on board because these version have been designed to cater specifically for the larger tablet screens. Some budget devices come with Gingerbread installed which, while being a perfectly good OS, was intended for use on phones and is not fully optimized for the larger screen. Also, try to ensure that any tablet you are buying includes access to Google play because some of the budget devices offer their own app stores which are seriously cut done from the default Google offering. Apps make a mobile device and having access to as many as possible will greatly enhance your tablet experience. So, do your research to ensure you are purchasing a tablet that works for you and that will continue to do so over time.
